Reneta Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Overview
Reneta ("we," "us," "our," operated by SensaWunda Co LLC) is a personal recommendation-capture app. This policy explains what information Reneta collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
Reneta is available for iPhone and for Android. This policy covers both; where the two work differently, it says so. Reneta is designed to keep your saved library under your control. Your library is stored on your device. On iPhone, when iCloud sync is enabled, it is also transmitted to and stored in your personal iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit service so it can sync across your devices. On Android, it is included in Android’s own backup of your apps, which Android stores in your Google account. Reneta does not maintain its own server-side account or copy of your saved library. There are additional specific situations where information leaves your device: capture processing, enrichment, sharing, and subscription-related metering. Each is described below.
Information We Collect
Content you provide
- Items you capture (via voice, text, photo, or shared links), including names, categories, locations, and any personal notes you add.
- Photos you take or share within the app.
- Voice: when you capture by speaking, Reneta uses your phone’s own speech recognition to transcribe your words, the same service used when you dictate to your keyboard. On iPhone this is Apple’s speech recognition, which sends the audio to Apple to convert it to text. On Android it is the speech recognition service built into Android (usually provided by Google), which may convert the audio on your phone or send it to that service’s provider. Reneta never receives, stores, or uploads the audio; it receives only the resulting text, which is saved on your device.
Your saved items are stored on your device and, on iPhone with iCloud sync enabled, in your personal iCloud account, or on Android in Android’s backup in your Google account (see "Data Retention"). To turn what you capture into an organized save, some of this content is processed by third-party services, described in "How your captures are processed and enriched" below.
Location data
- With your permission, and only while you are using the app, Reneta uses your location to show your saves near you and to find the right place when you save one nearby. On iPhone this happens on your device and through Apple Maps. On Android, your position is sent with the search to our server, which asks Apple Maps on your behalf; the position is used to answer that request and is not stored. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not track your location in the background or store a history of your movements.
- Reneta also uses location (with your permission) to check weather forecasts for your saved Plans. On Android, the forecast is fetched through our server from Apple’s WeatherKit, using the location of the stop in your Plan; it is used to answer that request and is not linked to you.
- If you track an artist in Don't Miss, Reneta sends your saved home area, or a city you have added to that artist, an approximate city-level location and not your live position, to Ticketmaster to find shows near you. This request goes through our server, so Ticketmaster does not receive your device or IP address. No other personal data is included, and no location is sent if you are not tracking an artist.
- You are asked for location permission at the point where it becomes relevant to a specific feature (not as a blanket request when you first open the app), and we explain what that permission unlocks at the time we ask.
Contacts
- With your permission on iPhone, or through Android’s own contact picker on Android, Reneta can read a contact you choose from your address book, so a service you save (a plumber, a stylist, a contractor) carries that person's real name rather than a bare phone number. When you pick a contact, Reneta copies their name, their company name if they have one, and the phone number you selected onto that save, on your device.
- On iPhone, Reneta may also look a contact up by a phone number you have already saved, for the same purpose: to replace a placeholder title with the person's name. This is a targeted lookup against the number on that save.
- Reneta does not read your address book in bulk, does not upload it, and does not use it to find other people who use Reneta.
- Details copied from a contact then live on that save like any other. If you later choose to share that save, they travel with it and are stored with the link, exactly as described in "Sharing data" below.
- Contacts access is optional. Decline it and the app works as before; a service save simply keeps whatever name you gave it.
Notification data
- We send notifications for Plan reminders, Don’t Miss alerts (artist/show tracking), and weather-related heads-ups, based on your saved content and preferences.
Identifiers
Two identifiers leave your device in limited circumstances:
- Share identifier: a random identifier your app generates the first time you use it and stores on your device. It is not derived from your device hardware and does not identify you personally. It travels inside items you share so that features like blocking a sender continue to work even if that person later changes their display name. It resets if you delete and reinstall the app.
- Subscription identifier: when you use features powered by our secure processing service (AI organization of your captures, and event/tour lookups), the app authenticates the request using your subscription: on iPhone, your App Store subscription, and on Android, your Google Play subscription. Our server checks the subscription with Apple or Google, and uses an identifier for that subscription (Apple’s stable subscription identifier, or one derived from your Google Play order) as an identifier for your subscription on our server. We use it only to (1) enforce fair-use rate limits, (2) keep a short-term daily record of your usage for operating and protecting the service: how many requests were made, which features they came from (for example, organizing a capture, reading a photo, or planning an outing), and their processing volume and cost, and (3) maintain a list of accounts blocked for abuse. The content of your requests and their results (for example, the text you send to be organized) is not stored or logged. This identifier is used for metering and abuse prevention only, never for advertising or for tracking you across other apps or websites. See "Data Retention" for how long these records are kept.
Sharing data
- When you share an item, list, or plan, Reneta creates a link so the recipient can view what you sent. To deliver that link, the shared content is stored on our servers (through our hosting providers) rather than only inside the link itself.
- What is stored includes the shared item, list, or plan and its details: names, titles, categories, addresses, the place’s location coordinates, city/state/country, and where applicable details such as cuisine, website, or phone, along with your display name (as you’ve set it in the app) so the recipient knows who shared it. The location coordinates stored are the place’s, not yours.
- Your private notes and your own photos are never included in anything you share.
- When someone shares an item with you, we receive the shared details and the sender’s name to create your own independent capture.
- See "Data Retention" for how long shared links are kept.
How Your Captures Are Processed and Enriched (Third Parties)
To turn what you capture into an organized save, Reneta sends some of your content to third-party services. We do not sell your data to any of them.
Services that process your content
- Anthropic (Claude): the text you type or speak, captions from links you share, and photos or screenshots you save are sent to Anthropic’s AI to identify and organize what you’re saving (for example, recognizing the name of a restaurant, show, or product). Anthropic processes this content to provide the requested result and, under its Commercial Terms applicable to API use, does not use Customer Content to train its models.
- Apple: when you capture by voice, your speech is sent to Apple’s speech-recognition service to transcribe it (Reneta does not store the audio). Apple also powers place search (Apple Maps), weather forecasts (WeatherKit), and podcast lookups when those features are used, on iPhone directly and on Android through our server.
- Google (Android only): Android’s speech recognition, described under "Content you provide"; Google Play, which processes subscription purchases on Android and tells our server when a subscription starts, renews, ends, or is refunded; and the Google Maps component that draws maps in the Android app. That maps component sends Google technical information about its own operation (such as crash reports, device and app details, and how the map was moved or zoomed) under Google’s privacy policy. It does not receive your saves.
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit (iPhone only): when iCloud sync is enabled, your saved Reneta library is transmitted to and stored in your personal iCloud account so it can stay synchronized across your devices. This storage is provided by Apple and is not a Reneta-operated server-side account.
Sources we pull reference information from to enrich a save
We send only what’s needed to look something up (such as a title, product name, or place name):
- The Movie Database (TMDB), with streaming availability powered by JustWatch, for movie and TV details.
- Ticketmaster, for event and tour data for Don’t Miss.
- Wikipedia, for artist background.
- Google Books, for book details: when you save a book, Reneta sends the title, and the author when you have named one, to look up the cover, description, publication year, and subject categories. It is asked first because it knows recently published and forthcoming titles; Open Library is used when it has no match.
- Open Library, for book details, as the fallback source when Google Books has no match.
- Google, for business and brand logos.
- Retailers and product listings: when you save a product, Reneta may look it up on retailer or search pages using the product name to confirm details and find a working link to it.
- The website of a place or business you save: Reneta may fetch that page to read its details and its icon.
- The web pages behind links you share (including from apps like Instagram and TikTok): Reneta fetches the page to read its title, description, and preview image. When we save a link, we remove common tracking parameters (such as utm, fbclid, gclid, igshid, and ref) so they are not stored.
These services may receive limited data, such as a title, product name, place name, search term, or a link, that is necessary to return relevant results. This can include content you typed or captured, not only links you have chosen to share.
Infrastructure and service providers
We use hosting and data-processing providers to operate the parts of Reneta that run on servers (such as our secure processing service and shared links). These providers, including Vercel and Upstash, process requests on our behalf and may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser/user-agent information) as part of operating their infrastructure. They act as our service providers and do not use this information for their own purposes.
Launch Notification Emails (This Website, Not the App)
Everything above describes the Reneta app. Separately, this website offers a launch notification form. That form is the only thing this website collects, and it is unrelated to the app’s on-device data.
- We collect email addresses submitted through our launch notification form solely to notify you when Reneta becomes available. We do not sell, rent, or share these addresses, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time by contacting support@getreneta.com.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the app’s core functionality (capturing, organizing, and reminding you of things you’ve saved).
- To interpret and organize what you capture (via the processing described above).
- To generate reminders and notifications you’ve requested or that stem from features you’ve enabled.
- To improve app enrichment (for example, matching a captured photo to the right product or artist).
- To operate, meter, and protect our secure processing service (see "Identifiers").
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only:
- With the third-party and infrastructure services described above, as needed to process and enrich your captures and operate the app.
- With another Reneta user, only when you explicitly choose to share an item, list, or plan with them (details and your display name only, never your private notes or photos).
- If required by law.
We require service providers that process personal information on our behalf to protect that information consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law and to use it only to provide services to Reneta.
Security
We take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and secure storage practices. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Users
Reneta is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States (including the EU/UK), your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using Reneta, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact support@getreneta.com to exercise these rights.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know/access: what personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete: request deletion of your personal information (see "Account deletion" below).
- Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate information.
- Right to opt out of sale/sharing: we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes, so this does not apply, but you always retain the right to ask.
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); residents of the EU/UK have rights under GDPR if applicable. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@getreneta.com.
Your Choices
- Location: You can disable location access at any time in your device’s Settings (on Android: Settings → Apps → Reneta → Permissions). Features that depend on location (showing your saves near you, finding places near you, weather forecasts) will not function without it.
- Contacts: You can disable contacts access at any time in your device's Settings. Names already copied onto a save stay on that save; you can edit or delete those saves in the app.
- Notifications: You can disable any or all notification types in-app or via device Settings.
- Deleting content: You can delete any saved item at any time within the app.
- Account deletion: Reneta does not maintain a traditional server-based user account for your saved library. Your saved library is stored on your device and, on iPhone with iCloud sync enabled, in your personal iCloud account, or on Android in Android’s backup. You can permanently delete your saved Reneta data (captures, plans, tracked artists, name, home location, and preferences) at any time via Settings → Legal → Delete All My Data. On iPhone, this deletes the data from this device and from iCloud; through iCloud sync, those deletions propagate to your other synced devices. On Android, this deletes the data from this device, and Android’s backup of Reneta is replaced the next time Android backs up. It also removes links you have shared from our servers, so those links will stop working for anyone who has them. Limited records reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement may be retained for those purposes as permitted by applicable law and as described in this policy. This action cannot be undone and resets the app to its initial state.
Data Retention
Reneta stores your saved content locally on your device. On iPhone with iCloud sync enabled, it is also stored in your personal iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit service; deleting content in Reneta is synchronized through iCloud so the deletion can propagate to your other synced devices, and Delete All My Data removes your saved Reneta data from this device and from iCloud. On Android, your library (but not photos you added to your own saves) is included in Android’s backup in your Google account, so it can be restored if you reinstall; that backup is managed by Android and is replaced each time Android backs up. Reneta does not maintain its own server-side account or copy of your saved library. Your saved content remains until you delete it.
Subscription status records: to know who is subscribed, our server keeps a record for each subscription of its status (active, in a free trial, cancelled, or ended), the plan, and its renewal or end date, as reported by Apple and Google. These records contain no saved content and are kept as long as needed to operate subscriptions and for accounting.
Shared links are stored on our servers so recipients can open them:
- Shared items, lists, and plans are kept for approximately 183 days (about six months), after which they expire.
- You can remove a shared link sooner: deleting all your data (Settings → Legal → Delete All My Data) also removes the links you have shared from our servers. You can also request removal at any time by contacting support@getreneta.com.
- Re-sharing the same content refreshes its stored copy.
Usage and metering records tied to your subscription identifier (described under "Identifiers") are kept on a short-term basis: rate-limit counters for up to two days, and the daily usage records (request counts, the features used, and processing volume and cost) for up to 45 days. Accounts blocked for abuse may be retained on a blocklist until removed.
Analytics
Reneta does not use any third-party analytics or session-tracking tools, and there is no advertising or cross-app tracking. On Android, the Google Maps component that draws maps reports technical information about its own operation to Google, as described above; Reneta does not receive or use that information. The subscription-based usage metering described under "Identifiers" exists only to operate and protect the app’s processing service, not to analyze your behavior. If we add an analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy to name the tool and describe what it collects before enabling it.
Children’s Privacy
Reneta is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date.
